Welcome to the NEW USS O'Hare Website!
STEP 1
If you are a crew member, the first thing you should do is create a profile in order to view other crew member's information or participate in the OHare Forum. To create a profile, follow these steps:
1) In the bottom left corner of the homepage, click on Register.
2) Fill in the Personal and User Details.
3) After you create your username and password, be sure to write them down.
4) Upload a photo if you like. This photo will be used only in the O'Hare discussion forum.
5) Click "Submit."
6) Congratulations! You have now registered your profile, and are ready to update your crew information.
STEP 2
If your name was included in the Crew Roster on the old website, your crew information should have made it over to this O'Hare site. To find it and update the information, follow these steps:
1) Go to the Crew page and search by last name.
2) You may also use the alphabetical index which lists crew members by last name.
3) Once you find your information, check name, rank, and years aboard for accuracy.
4) Click Update Crew Information near the top of the page.
5) You'll be asked for an email address. Enter the last email that you used when you updated or added your information on the old site.
6) After clicking "Submit" your crew information should appear.
7) Change any information that is incorrect.
8) Enter your physical address and phone number so the site administrator can keep up with your whereabouts. Please enter this required information.
9) Upload a photo from your computer if you like.
10) If you wish to hide any of this information from the public, be sure those boxes remain unchecked. Name, rank, and years aboard cannot be unchecked.
11) Be sure to click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page before exiting.
12) You're done! Remember that all updates have to be approved by the site administrator before viewable by the public.
If you failed to find you're crew information and are certain that it DID exist on the old site, do one of the following:
1) Be certain that you are entering the email address that was last listed on the old O'Hare site. If the email is no longer current, don't worry--you'll get a chance to change it when it finds your info.
2) Still can't find your information? Click on Add a Crew Member near the top and re-enter the information you want included in the new roster.
3) Email the Site Administrator and let him know what you have done so he can delete your OLD information and avoid having two of you on the list!
This website has largely been a labor of love and is dedicated to the fine men who served aboard the USS O'Hare. Be sure you take a look around to "get your sea legs." We're very proud of it, and hope you are, too.
